We decided to build an Ethereum Mining Rig with nothing but copper tubes! Thanks to ethOS, the rig can also quickly mine Monero or ZCash. Use the links to find out more, or read the short description of the rig below the links.
We’re currently achieving 96MH/s on Ethereum but with two additional RX 480s and a custom BIOS this will nearly double to 180MH/s

We designed a GPU mining rig from nothing but copper tubes (and some machined aluminum corner). Why? Simply put we were tired of all of the cabling everywhere and wanted to use the copper tubes to hide them. While we could have used PVC tubes or similar, these don’t really have the same visual appeal.
With all mining rigs, the biggest issue is always the heat dissipation – the GPUs tend to run fast, hot, and noisy! By using the eight 140mm fans, provided to us by Noctua (as well as the CPU cooler), to push air through, we were able to run the GPU fans at a lower speed. Hence we now have a mining rig in our office that not only looks great but is also quiet enough to not disturb everyone. Not to mention the fact, that thanks to ethOS it was quick to set up and operates efficiently.
Unfortunately, while we did CAD the design pre-assembly, it has turned out a lot larger than expected. You can tell this, just by comparing its size to the 22” monitor next to it. However, performance wise it was perfect as we could run the fans at a 10-20% slower speed thanks to the additional cooling by the Noctua fans.
Version 2 is already in the works, and we will be dropping all of the rigs dimensions and integrating AIO GPU Water Cooling by ARCTIC ( Subscribe to our channel if you want to be informed about it when it’s ready.
